Debora Vicente
I believe that Law and Economics when together and well handled can change our reality for the better. Focusing my career on these fields not only inspires me but also means the opportunity to learn from innovative and dedicated people, engage in groundbreaking projects, and carry out insightful research. I have an analytical problem-solving attitude and my background includes valuable experience in translating rights and liabilities for the realization of projects within international business environments. My current educational foundation in L&E (LL.M) equips me with the necessary skills to access legal-economic reasoning to measure cause-effects matters, including quantitative and qualitative evaluations in competition, intellectual property, and public policies. Additionally, I am a licensed Lawyer in Brazil and hold a Magna Cum Laude Bachelor's degree in Law and Social Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), which consistently ranks among the top two universities in Brazil. I have extensive experience in legal counseling and practice. Lately, I dedicate myself to Corporate Law, Intellectual Assets, and Competition Law. I particularly enjoy dealing with complex cases that require strategic thinking and efficiency. Having worked in corporate, public, and academic settings, I am well-versed in dealing with diverse working environments. In addition, my knowledge of multiple languages, including proficiency in English, Italian, and Portuguese, allows me to operate in an international business context, expertly handling legal and economic concepts. As a UFRJ alumna, I am still part of the Interested Group in Intellectual Property (LAPI UFRJ); the Study Group in Democratic Institutions, Society, and Public Policies (GIDESPP); and the Law, Economics, Intellectual Property, and Sustainability Researcher Group (DEPIS). It is worth mentioning that during my undergraduate studies, I co-founded the UFRJ United Nations Model (UFRJ MUN), and am the co-creator of automation software to file patent applications in Brazil. I am highly motivated to work in international environments and to convey legal and economic thinking.
