Minh Tam Bui

Dr. MinhTam is currently a lecturer of economics at the Faculty of Economics, Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand. Her research interests focus on international economic and development economic issues such as gender inequality, particularly those in South East Asia. Regional economic integration and its impact on economic development are priorities in her current work. Trade liberalization and international migration, poverty, inequality and women's economic empowerment, and unpaid care are among the areas of her recent research projects with emphasis on quantitative analysis. Her doctoral dissertation was about the costs and benefits of a multiple exchange rate system in Vietnam. Before pursuing her Ph.D. in Thailand in 2006, she worked in various donor-funded development projects in Vietnam. Dr. MinhTam was a visiting scholar at the University of Utah in 2014, working on the issues of migration in Thailand and a visiting professor at Meiji University, Japan in 2018.
