Description

Call for Papers: 2026 Post-Keynesian Economics Society PhD Student Conference

3rd June, 2026. University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield

We are excited to share the call for papers for the 2026 PhD student conference on the 3rd June 2026, 10:00-18:00 BST, co-organised by The Post-Keynesian Economics Society (PKES), the Young Scholar Initiative (YSI) Keynesian Economics Working Group and the University of Hertfordshire Business School. The conference will be held in person at the De Havilland Campus, University of Hertfordshire. It gives students the opportunity to present a chapter of their PhD dissertation and receive detailed and structured feedback from a senior researcher from PKES in a friendly environment.

We invite applications from students who are in a later stage of their PhD and who work on topics relevant to Post-Keynesian and pluralist economics more broadly. These topics include, but are not limited to, inequality and stagnation, the ecological crisis and green transition, structural dependencies in the Global South, the care economy and building sustainable communities, and financialisation. Submissions should qualify as a novel contribution to the literature and be at the stage of pre-publication. We usually do not consider dissertation proposals, literature reviews, or papers based on master’s dissertations.

We actively encourage submissions from students who are underrepresented in economics research. This includes – but is not limited to – individuals who identify as women, black or ethnically minoritised students, those with disabilities, or
