This fast-paced, hands-on workshop is designed to help scholars create engaging video content about their research. In just two hours, participants will learn how to craft compelling research videos, film with minimal equipment, and edit for social media rearch.
Program
9:00 – 9:50 AM ET | Best practices for scripting and filming
– Why video?
– Structuring your message
9:50 – 10:20 AM ET | Selfguided Assignment: Draft your script
– Participants work on their scripts
– Facilitators available for questions on chat
10:20 – 11:00 AM ET | Editing and sharing
– Setup and delivery
– Editing and sharing
Rest of day | Self-guided assignment: Film and get feedback
– Participants record a 30-60 second research video and edit it using what they learned.
– Participants are invited to upload their video via chat for encouragement and feedback
