Description
The Keynesian Working Group is pleased to announce a call for applications for the YSI Poster Session at the “Centro Sraffa” Winter School. Organized by the Centro di Ricerche e Documentazione “Piero Sraffa,” the Winter School is open to PhD students and young scholars with an interest in the modern revival of Classical economic theory.
The school’s primary goal is to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the surplus approach, as developed by Piero Sraffa and other scholars. Participants will engage with the analyses of Classical economists and explore contemporary research conducted within this theoretical framework.
The Sraffian Winter School is a key event for young researchers, offering a unique opportunity to rediscover the Classical approach while engaging with broader economic debates and their relevance to contemporary issues. The lectures will introduce participants to the foundations of the main lines of research within the modern revival of Classical theory and are organized in four modules:
- Classical Theory and Marginalist (or Neoclassical) Theory: Their Different Analytical Structures (Introductory Module);
- the Critique of Neoclassical Theory (Module A);
- the Surplus Approach to Value and Distribution(Module B);
- the Classical-Keynesian Approach to Output Determination and Economic Growth (Module C).
In previous editions, the School has not only fostered personal and intellectual growth but has also served as a platform for collaborative research projects and the formation of lasting professional relationships among participants.
The YSI Poster Session at the “Centro Sraffa” Winter School is an excellent opportunity for young researchers to present their work, receive valuable feedback from peers, and explore potential collaborations.
A selected number of students accepted to the “Centro Sraffa” School and interested in participating in the YSI Poster Session will receive a partial travel and accommodation stipend from YSI/INET.
Students interested in participating in the YSI Poster Session must apply to both the Sraffian Winter School and the YSI Poster Session. When applying for the School, they must indicate their interest in presenting a poster in the YSI Poster Session @ Sraffian Winter School.
