Description

The Postgraduate Research Seminar is an in-person academic event held since 2023, on the initiative of the Master’s and Doctoral students at the Institute of Economics at the University of Campinas (IE-Unicamp). It is organized annually by the postgraduate students themselves, in partnership with the coordinators of IE’s Postgraduate Programs in Economics and Economic Development.
The event aims to promote the sharing and discussion of the research carried out by postgraduate students, regardless of the stage they are at. They may be beginning or already completed; they may be projects or already have results (preliminary or final); they may have already been presented/submitted/published or not, etc.
The idea is for the seminar to be an opportunity for these works to be presented and discussed collectively, encouraging interaction between students from both of IE’s Postgraduate Programs, and between them and professors, researchers, and other students from inside and – whenever possible – outside the institute.
In 2024, the seminar will take place on October 16, 17, and 18, at IE, located at Rua Pitágoras, 353, in Campinas, SP, Brazil. In this event’s second edition – supported by the Young Scholars Initiative (YSI) – up to 8 postgraduate students from other institutions will be selected, whose work relates to at least 1 of the 25 lines of research of IE’s Postgraduate Programs in Economics and Economic Development.
If you are a postgraduate student at IE or any other higher education institution and want to present your work in Economics or Economic Development at the seminar, apply by September 23, 2024. You do not need the full text of the research, just an abstract of up to 500 words.
If your work is selected, you will be invited to give a 15-20-minute presentation in person at one of the Postgraduate Seminar tables. Presentations are all in Portuguese, but exceptions can be considered if requested. Postgraduates from outside IE may have their expenses transportation and accommodation covered, and all presenters will receive certificates of participation.
