Description

The Keynesian Group, together with the Department of Economics and Statistics at the Università di Salerno, is pleased to announce the workshop “Macroeconomics and Innovation for the Green Transition”, organized within the PNRR PRIN 2022 ‘Disentangling the EnvironMental and Energy efficiency impact of public innovation investment for a green TRAnsition’ (DEMETRA) together with its Principal Investigator Stefano Di Bucchianico, and aimed at providing a platform for young researchers to present their work, engage in stimulating discussions, and network with leading experts in the field. 

This workshop will feature lectures from renowned scholars, such as:

  • Matteo Ciccarelli (European Central Bank)
  • Anna Maria Ferragina (University of Salerno)
  • Elena Paglialunga (Roma Tre University and SEEDS)
  • Marco Sorge (University of Salerno)

The topics of the lectures will cover a wide-ranging list of issues, including: how the Green Transition can be expected to have macroeconomic impacts, the public perception about climate change, the role of networks in shaping sustainability in the European Union, and green innovation in Italy.

Workshop Objectives 

In addition to the keynote presentations, the workshop will include two-afternoon sessions dedicated to PhD students or early-career researchers. Participants will be able to present their research and receive feedback from the keynote speakers, local faculty, and peers in a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment. Both empirical, theoretical, and modeling contributions are warmly welcomed. 

Call for Papers 

We invite submissions on topics broadly related to the workshop themes, including but not limited to: 

  • Regional disparities in sustainable transitions and just development. 
  • The interplay between green trade, innovation, and environmental policies. 
  • Distributional consequences of climate change and how to achieve a just transition. 
  • Public perception and behavioural responses to climate change. 
  • Macroeconomic effects of climate-related shocks and policies. 
  • Interdisciplinary approaches to understanding the green transition. 


Submission Guidelines
 

Please submit an extended abstract (400 words) outlining your research objectives, methodology, and key findings by the 10th of March 2025 using the online form 


Important Dates 

  • Submission Deadline: 10th of March 2025 
  • Notification of Acceptance: 12th of March 2025 
  • Workshop Date: 8th-9th April 2025 


Funding and Logistics
 

Thanks to the support of YSI, we are able to provide: 

  • Travel stipends and accommodation for selected participants. 
  • A networking event to foster collaborations among attendees.
