Description

The Keynesian Working Group is happy to announce a call for papers to the YSI Pre-conference @ ASTRIL 2025.

We invite you to submit your abstract to the pre-conference event organized by the Young Scholars Initiative at the 8th ASTRIL annual conference. The pre-conference will take place at Roma Tre University, Rome, Italy on January 22. Young scholars are highly encouraged to apply to the call for abstracts. If selected, you will be invited to present your work. Selections will be made based on merit (partial travel stipends, and accommodation will be available for selected participants).

The rise of AI is reshaping labor markets by driving automation and creating demand for new skills, prompting a reevaluation of workforce training. This shift impacts the labor market, wages, and income distribution, and might generate concerns, especially in a stagnant productivity and wage environment. As a consequence, key policy areas must include industrial strategy, welfare, and education. To ensure fair outcomes, Governments and unions must play a crucial role in managing these transformations.

The YSI Pre-conference Workshop at the 8th International ASTRIL Conference is a great opportunity to bring together young researchers to present their work, receive feedback from colleagues, and discuss potential collaborations. We invite young scholars to tackle relevant policy issues on the current macroeconomic challenges and their repercussions on the labor market.

We encourage contributions related (but not limited) to the following topics:
