Overview

The Mentoring Session is a unique and valuable opportunity designed to support young Brazilian female scholars in the field of Economics. This workshop is specifically tailored for female graduate students and early-career scholars, with a particular focus on participants from Brazil’s Northeast region, as well as black and indigenous scholars. This initiative aims to address the significant disparities in the academic environment of Economics in Brazil by providing targeted support and guidance.

Participants will engage in discussions on a variety of themes, including:

Objectives

The primary goals of the mentoring session are to:

  • Reduce Disparities: Address the unequal academic environment in Economics in Brazil
  • Provide Support: Offer career and research guidance from senior mentors
  • Foster Networking: Create opportunities for women economists to connect and support each other

Participation

  • Application Process: Scholars will apply through a form <https://forms.gle/pzVKkUrgM9VbRcbQ8>. The applicants will undergo a selection process based on the documents submitted.
  • Funding: We have the possibility to cover part of the airfare (up to 180 dollars) and one night of hotel accommodation.

 

This mentoring session is a significant step towards creating a more inclusive and supportive academic environment for women in Economics.
