YSI @ XXII ENABER – Spatial Econometrics: Methods, Identification and Applications in Regional Economics.

The Urban and Regional Economics Working Group is glad to announce a special panel discussion at the XXII Enaber conference. Together with Professor Pedro Amaral (Center for Regional Development and Planning/UFMG, YSI’s invited speaker), André Luiz Squarize Chagas (Nereus/ FEA-USP) and Luís Abel Filho (Nereus/ FEA-USP and URCA), we aim to discuss emerging themes in spatial econometrics, focusing on recent methods and applications of regional economics research and future perspectives. Young scholars are invited to engage in the discussion, bringing their ideas and questions.

This activity will happen during the XXII National Meeting of the Brazilian Association of Regional and Urban Studies (ABER) – XXII ENABER, in Vitória, Espírito Santo, Brazil, from October 23rd to 26th, 2024. Selected young scholars will receive partial travel stipends and accommodation to attend the YSI Panel and the whole conference.

About the Conference:

XXII National Meeting of the Brazilian Association of Regional and Urban Studies – XXII ENABER, which will be held between the 23rd and 25th of October 2024 at Comfort Suítes Vitória, in the city of Vitória, in Espírito Santo.

With the theme “The Challenges of Regional and Urban Inequalities in the Face of Climate Change”, XXII ENABER seeks to contribute to debates on patterns of economic, social and environmental development compatible with the challenges presented by climate change, focusing on regional and urban ones are promoting economic growth that favors the reduction of inequalities and social inclusion.
