YSI is proud to support the workshop as part of its ‘Economics of Innovation’ Working Group at NEST 2025. This workshop, scheduled on Day 1 of the Conference, will bring together scholars from around the world to deliberate on critical topics related to sustainability, innovation, and equity. As part of this initiative, Global South Scholarships will be awarded to 10 outstanding Early Career Researchers (ECRs). These scholars will be formally acknowledged during the workshop, which serves as a platform for fostering global dialogue and collaboration. The selected scholars will also have the opportunity to attend the entire NEST 2025 Conference. On needs basis, we aim to provide partial scholarship support for three nights of accommodation in Brighton and a partial travel stipend (reimbursed) to assist with international airfare expenses. This initiative aims to ensure diverse representation and enrich the discussions with perspectives from the Global South.
Important Steps to Apply
1. Submit your abstract to the NEST 2025 conference on https://transitionsnest.wordpress.com/2024/11/18/call-for-abstracts-10th-nest-conference-2025/
2. Deadline for NEST Conference 2025 abstract submission is 8th January 2025.
3. You can only apply for the YSI scholarship once your abstract to the NEST conference has been submitted and selected.
4. Abstract selection results will be announced by the end of January 2025.
5. Once your abstract is accepted, register as a YSI-INET member and complete the Global South Scholarship application.
6. Further details, including the application link, will be shared with selected applicants separately via email.

You can only apply to this scholarship once you have completed your application to the NEST conference, and your abstract has been shortlisted. Please do not fill out this form unless you have received a positive result on your NEST abstract. Please follow the link to the application form to apply, if you are a Global South applicant, and have received a positive response on your NEST conference abstract.
