Call for Papers: 2024 MACRO-HET Workshop

We invite young scholars to participate in the 2024 MACRO-HET Workshop, taking place at the University of Siena, Italy, from October 16-18, 2024. This year’s theme is “Sustainable Development: Structural Change and the Environment,” focusing on innovative approaches to inclusive development amid the current environmental crisis.

Theoretical and empirical contributions on structural change and the environment are welcome, while those addressing the following topics are particularly encouraged:

  • Structuralism and behavioral macroeconomics
  • Climate change and environmental economics
  • Social interactions and social norms
  • Complexity and uncertainty

A variety of methodological approaches is welcome, particularly:

  • Nonlinear dynamic systems
  • Heterogeneous Agents Models (HAMs)
  • Agent-based Models (ABMs)
  • Stock-Flow Consistent Models (SFCs)

Keynote lectures will be delivered by Peter Skott (University of Massachusetts Amherst) and Adam Aboobaker (University of Manchester).

Submission Guidelines:

  • Deadline: August 15, 2024
  • Submit an expanded abstract (max 1000 words) detailing your research question and approach.
