Call for papers – “The Roads to Development: Work, Markets and Institutions” International Conference

Dear members of the Economic History WG,
The University of Navarra (Spain) will organise the international conference “The Roads to Development: Work, Markets and Institutions,” which will be held on October 20th and 21st in Pamplona. The university is especially interested in having young scholars from the field of economic history present their work. If you are interested in the conference theme, we warmly invite you to register. All essential information is provided below for your convenience:

Much has been said and researched about development over the last decades. Yet, the contemporary geopolitical context demands an updated reflection on the hindrances and opportunities for furthering development both at the national and at the global scale.  The Roads to Development is a two-day conference bringing together a number of leading academics with the aim to revisit the concept of development and consider the conditions that make it possible in the present state of the world. Among our keynote speakers we will have worldwide known economists as Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz, Jeffrey Sachs, Stefano Zamagni, Juan Francisco Jimeno, and Albino Barrera, as well as sociologist Allison Pugh.

We invite interested academics and scholars to present their paper at the conference. We are particularly interested in having young scholars presenting in order to promote their research and presence among scholars, as well as giving them the chance to listen to top economists discuss about important research topics in Development. Please see the details on the Call for Papers  on the conference website: https://www.unav.edu/web/roads-to-development

   Best regards,
