About

Wayne Malinga holds a PhD in Development Studies from the University of Fort Hare in South Africa, a Masters in Development Studies and a BA Honours in History and Development Studies both Midlands State University in Zimbabwe. Currently, he is a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Development Studies at Lupane State University in Zimbabwe where he teaches courses on climate change, mitigation, adaptation, disaster risk reduction, resilience, water resources management, food and livelihoods security. In addition, he is also an independent consultant, researcher, programmer, data analyst and evaluation specialist where he has worked with local and international non-governmental organisations conducting evaluations, baseline surveys, researches, needs assessments, policy briefs and other various assignments. He is also a Research Associate at the Institute for the Future of Knowledge (IFK) at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa, a Research Fellow at the Public Policy Research Institute of Zimbabwe (PPRIZ) and a Director at African Food Revolution (Across Africa and Middle East) which is an international organisation that focuses on food production through the promotion and consumption of local indigenous foods while intersecting cross-cutting issues such as Gender/Youth, HIV/AIDS, environment, climate change, water, land, adaptation and the promotion of indigenous knowledge systems. His research interests are centred on topics related to water, climate change, rural development, natural resources management and socio-economic development issues.

About my research

My research interest areas include African development, climate change, public policy, history and urban-rural divide. I am currently engaged in research that focuses on climate change and the intersect of public policy in Zimbabwe.
