About
Seung Woo is a historian of finance. He examines the contested nature of finance in the 20th century by contextualising its development within contemporary society, politics, and culture. He is interested in the way in which the realm of finance interacted with society. Having read philosophy and history at Korea University, Seung Woo completed a PhD degree in history at the University of Cambridge. After a post at the Graduate Institute Geneva, he was elected a Browaldh postdoc at the Economic History Department, Uppsala University, Sweden. His interests include the history of global finance, asset management, the international monetary system and the relations between democracy and finance.
