About
I am an applied economist, working as Economic Complexity Analyst at the Joint Research Center of the European Commission in Seville. Previously, I worked as researcher at the United Nations University - UNU MERIT in Maastricht (Netherlands), and as postdoctoral researcher at the Enrico Fermi Research Center in Rome. I received a PhD in Science and Technology Policy from the Science Policy Research Unit, University of Sussex (Brighton, UK). My research examines transformation of economic structures, aiming to understand the impact of technology on the process of structural change with a particular interest in its inclusiveness and sustainability. My research bridges several academic fields, such as development economics, economic geography and economic complexity. I have also collaborated with several international organizations and research centers, including the European Commission, the former UK Department for International Development, the Institute of Development Studies and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
