About
Laura de la Villa is a PhD candidate at the Paul Bairoch Institute of Economic History at the University of Geneva. In 2012, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. In 2013, she continued her studies with a Master’s degree in Economic History at the University of Barcelona. After working two years at the University of Barcelona as a research and teaching assistant, Laura joined the Paul Bairoch Institute of Economic History in March 2016. She collaborates on the interdisciplinary research project “Diplomacies of Sovereign Debt: Comparing Sovereign Debt Disputes Since 1945” funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and directed by Pr. Juan H. Flores. Her research interests lie mainly in contemporary financial history.
