10 YEARS YSI LOCAL CELEBRATION

To mark 10 Years of YSI, 25 local young scholars from Kenya in collaboration with the School of Business and Economics (SBE), the School of Computing and Mathematics (SCM) and the School of Cooperatives and Community Development (SCCD) at The Co-operative University of Kenya will hold a local celebration on Wednesday May 18, 2022 from 1700hrs to 1930 hrs at the Cooperative Retreat and Conference in Nairobi. The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kamau Ngamau will be the Chief Guest and he will speak on the theme "Cooperative Economics Beyond Co-ops". This will be followed by remarks from YSI's long-time mentor Prof. Esther Gicheru, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Finance and Planning at the University, Dr. Argan Wekesa, Ag Dean School of Computing and Mathematics, Dr. Silas Maiyo, Coordinator Division of Cooperative Development, Research and Innovation (CDRI) and Dr. Lucinda Mugaa, Dean of Students.

The event will start with a presentation on YSI milestone over the last 10 years by Timothy Bisakaya (Coordinator, YSI-COOP WG) with help of Mary Mbugua and will end with a dinner and celebration.
