Description

From Science to Action: Repositioning the Early Career Scholars

Under the theme ‘‘From Science to Action’’, the third World Biodiversity Forum seeks to bring together researchers across all various disciplines with practitioners and societal actors. This is with a view to explore how to move from science to actions and solutions to conserve biodiversity and set us on a viable path towards transformation for economic, social, and political sustainability.

The third World Biodiversity Forum will be held as an in-person event, once again at the Congress Centre in Davos, Switzerland. The WBF will start with a day of workshops, training sessions and networking meetings on 16 June 2024 and end with excursions in the beautiful surroundings of Davos and its mountains on Friday, 21 June 2024.

In conjunction with the World Biodiversity Forum, the Young Scholars Initiative will host an Early Career Researchers and Professionals Workshop.

This workshop will take place on Sunday, 16 June, 13:00 – 18:00, and Monday, 17 June 9:00 – 13:00.

The senior scholars (mentors) to support the workshop are Dr. Cornelia Krug, University of Zurich, Prof Rehema White, University of St Andrews, and Alice Ruhweza, World Widelife Fund.

During the workshop, Early Career Researchers and Professionals will have the opportunity to contribute to the conference resolutions. This will be premised on ideas and issues that were highlighted during the workshop.

The workshop will end with a networking event in the evening of Monday 17th June, 2024.
