Description:

The Young Scholars Initiative is partnering with the Solve Climate by 2030 (http://www.solveclimateby2030.org/), where simultaneous webinars will be held in the USA and abroad, discussing how we could fight against severe consequences from climate change by acting today.

In line with this initiative, the Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development Group (GEMA) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and YSI will host a webinar discussing Climate Change solutions in Brazil.

We are delighted to invite as guest speakers:

Ana Toni – Executive Director from the Institute for Climate and Society (iCS)
Carlos Eduardo Frickmann Young – Professor at the Economics Institute (UFRJ) and Director of GEMA/UFRJ
Alfredo Sirkis – Jornalist, writer and former congressman from Rio de Janeiro state

Alexandre Batista (Moderator) – Project Coordinator at Centro Brasil no Clima and PhD candidate in Public Policies (Environment) at UFRJ
