Description

The Keynesian Economics Working Group is glad to announce its participation at the 50th Eastern Economics Association Conference, to be held in Boston between Feb. 29th to Mar. 03rd 2024. At this event, we will have the opportunity do discuss the different economic challenges that we globally face, like the many consequences of the armed conflicts, climate change, rising levels of income inequality, and so many others.

This economic landscape forces us to rethink fundamental ideas and policy options to promote a sustainable and environmentally friendly growth that reduces inequalities. Join us to discuss how to tackle these challenges and what are the alternatives provided by new economic thinking.

As a pre-conference event, we will held a workshop on February 28th. More details on this pre-conference to be published soon.

In addition, we are happy to announce three special sessions at the main conference organized by the Keynesian Economics Working Group. For these sessions, we welcome contributions related (but not limited) to the following topics:

Macroeconomic and financial aspects of climate change;
Economic consequences of war;
Changing geopolitical landscape;
The causes and consequences of economic crises;
Policy responses to economic downturns;
Economic policies and their effects on economic growth and income distribution;
Financialization and its effects on the economic activity;
Alternative macroeconomic models (e.g. Stock Flow Consistent, Agent Based, Kaleckian, Minskian) related to issues such as macroeconomic instability, economic growth and inequality.

All applicants must submit an abstract (maximum of 2000 characters) until November 20th through this form. Decisions will be made until November 25th and will be based on clarity, relevance and originality of abstracts outlining the research question, method and (preliminary) results.
