Agenda for the 21st Century Economics: Developmental State or Degrowth?

Dear members,

Join us to this new Discussion Panel Roundtable, which will be placed in the Innovation Constellation.

Agenda for the 21st Century 'Other Canon' Economics: Developmental State or Degrowth?

17.30 – 19.00 UTC

The participants of the proposed session shall discuss the relevance or irrelevance of the developmental state concept in the 21st century in the light of
a) skepticism on the idea of infinite economic growth;
b) rereading of Joseph Schumpeter's ideas on the evolution of capitalism; and
c) the need for enhanced state capacity and greater linkages with different social forces in response to new economic challenges.
What is the best way in enabling sustainable well-being for all?
