Call for applications: Assistant professor in International Relations and Development with focus on Reforms

The School of Social Sciences, Department of Political Science at the University of Mannheim, seeks applications for the position of an Assistant Professor in International Politics and Development (non-tenure track) starting 1 September 2017. The position is temporary until 31 August 2023.

The University of Mannheim is seeking to employ a junior scholar in the field of international politics and development. The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree, commitment to excellence in teaching, and documented excellence in research.

The University of Mannheim offers an excellent international research environment, visible in the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES), the Collaborative Research Centre SFB 884 on “Political Economy of Reforms”, the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences (GESS), and the editorship of the American Political Science Review (APSR). The candidate is expected to play an active role in the further development of MZES, SFB and GESS.

The University of Mannheim places great emphasis on training and mentoring of students and therefore expects full-time presence of its teaching staff and the ability to teach in English.
