CALL FOR PARTICIPATION to YSI Panel in WAPLAC Workshop 2024 (Universidad de Costa Rica)

The Inequality and Latin America working groups extend a formal invitation for your participation in the 2024 WAPLAC Workshop, themed “Welfare and Policies in LAC: Advances and Challenges Ahead.” Scheduled to take place at the University of Costa Rica on May 9-10, this workshop presents a distinguished opportunity for you to present your research on themes as: Social Fiscal Policies and Welfare Systems; Labor markets, Wage Dynamics and Working Conditions; Income Distribution, Inequality and Well-being; and Political Economy, Voting Attitudes, Policy Compliance and Societal Change.

The aim is to have a whole session of YSI students presenting their research, wherein YSI students can present their research, fostering scholarly engagement, networking opportunities, and active involvement in the workshop. This endeavor seeks to inaugurate a collaborative alliance between WAPLAC and YSI for future intellectual ventures. The two-day conference aspires to assess research on fiscal and welfare policies, inequality, well-being, labor market dynamics, support for democracy, and other consequential social outcomes in LAC. Contributions are encouraged to concentrate on the advancements facilitated by the proliferation of socio-fiscal policies in the region and the multifaceted challenges encountered in implementing sustainable welfare policies.
