Consider nominating yourself for the YSI Community Board!

Dear YSI Core,

It’s time to elect a new YSI Community Board (formerly the Community Report Committee). We hope you’ll consider nominating yourself, and that you’ll vote in the election!

The YSI Community Board plays a crucial role in the governance of our community: it advises YSI Management and the YSI Working Groups in the improvement of our community structures and processes, and helps resolve conflicts within the working groups and/or the YSI Management team. Once elected, the board will serve until the next YSI Plenary.

The outgoing CRC has been instrumental in shaping our YSI Standard of Operations, and it has created various advisory teams to understand and create recommendations on issues like early career, inclusivity, and innovative formats. One of its members, Danilo Spinola, has been asked to stay on, and serve as the chairman of the new Community Board.

We encourage you to:

  1. Attend an informational webinar with the outgoing CRC (27 March, 5pm GMT)
  2. Consider nominating yourself for the community board (deadline: 30 March)
  3. Vote alongside everyone else in core to elect the first two board members (in mid April)
  4. Encourage the entire community in voting for the remaining two board members (in late April)

We also suggest you review the State of the Community Report if you haven’t yet; the outgoing members of the CRC also share their reflections on it here.

Thank you so much for participating! We hope you are well, and send you our warmest virtual regards.

Best,
Thomas, Jay, Heske

PS We also have five positions for coordinator open. Please encourage active members interested in the respective groups to apply (or if you are an organizer, apply yourself)!
