Pandemics Labor Market and Social Policy in Brazil in 2020 – Daniel Duque

Join us for a discussion about the impacts of covid-19 pandemic on Brazil's labor market and the emergency aid given by the government. In the presented study, it will be shown how the pandemic affected the Brazilian labor market and, consequently, the its society's welfare level. Additionally, an analysis will be carried out on the social and labor impacts of Emergency Aid in the midst of the crisis, and what are the expected impacts of its end in early 2021.

Daniel Duque is a PhD candidate at the Norwegian School of Economics with a masters Degree in Economics from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ. He is also a researcher for IBRE/FGV and his main studies are in inequality, intergenerational mobility and labor market.
