About

I am a proactive, driven and sensitive woman. A PhD candidate in Geography, investigating territorial policies in relation to the phenomenon of remote work, at the University of Salento. I completed a School of Management at Royal Holloway and an MSc pertaining sustainable development at UCL, during which I collaborated with Beijing's Agricultural University. Most recently completing the Limes School of GeoPolitics in Italy. Previously I worked in both the private and public sectors, gathering international work experience in Malaysia, Singapore, Italy and England. I performed several and varied roles, amongst which: CSR analysts in the Humanitarian and Energy sector, Business Operations Manager in the FMCG sector and a Geography teaher in the European High School. I chose to get back into Higher Education in 2021 to investigate potential solutions to bridging EU's north-south divide. This intent was driven by the fact that in 2018 I was elected local councilor (position held for 5 years, ended last month) in Brindisi, Puglia - the town in which I was raised - where incrising depopulation and unemployment eagered my quest to find links between technology, sustainble development and EU's southern regions. I am conducting my research within the 'Human and Social Sciences in memoria di Giulio Regeni ricercatore' doctoral program in Università del Salento and as of next month I will start a visiting in the Universidad de Barcelona's 'Geography, Territorial Planning and Environmental Management' doctoral program.

About my research

My research areas are territorial development policies, territorial gaps and the geography of networks. Investigated under historical & geographical sciences, the title of the investigation is: “Bridging the north-south divide: territorial policies for the sustainable attraction of digital nomads and remote workers”.
