Description

This full-day workshop on Economic and Financial Networks takes place on January 23rd as a part of the NetSci-X 2020 conference in Tokyo, Japan. This Special Workshop aims to bring together young scholars active in the area of Economic and Financial Networks from across disciplines with experts in the field. Participants will receive state of the art insights in network science and its application to economics as well as valuable feedback on presentations and posters by experienced mentors and peers.
The Complexity Economics, East Asia and Urban and Regional Economics Working Groups invite highly motivated Young Scholars to submit an abstract for the contributed talks and poster sessions featured in this workshop. More information on the workshop and the call for abstracts can be found on the workshop homepage . Abstract submission is administered through an EasyChair link on the homepage, deadline is on September 30.

The YSI will offer a number of travel stipends to young scholars that submit an abstract to this workshop. YSI will cover also accommodation in shared hotel rooms from January 22nd to 24th to all selected participants who are not based in Tokyo. Applications for travel support are administered here through the Young Scholar Directory, deadline October 7. Applicants will be notified about the outcome of their submission on October 31.

For all the accepted workshop participants registration on the NetSci-X 2020 main conference is mandatory. Rates for students are very low and the early registration deadline is on November 30. Registrations are administered through the NetSci-X 2020 registration page. We welcome participants to see this as an opportunity to attend the NetSci-X conference before the workshop. It is important to note, that registration only allows attendance. Thus, if a young scholar aims to present also at the main conference, a separate abstract submission to the NetSci-X 2020 conference is necessary (deadline September 30).
